Sponge:
Encrusting to 1 mm thick.
Consistency: Slightly spongy.
Surface: smooth with volcano-like mounds with oscular openings.
Oscula: 0.2 - 1 mm in diameter.
Color: Tan-grey. ? Alive.

Distribution: Southern California.
Depth: Deep water, 92 - 100 m.
Note: Oxeote diactins never seen in this group before.

Sponge:
Encrusting, globular.
Consistency: spongy and crumbly.
Surface: smooth in places to rugose.
Oscula: oval to irregular, 2 - 4 mm diameter.
Color: Alive: Buff.

Depth: Intertidal.
